Fibromyalgia and Chiropractic
It is estimated that one in fifty Americans have fibromyalgia. This term is one that many people may not have heard of or may not be fully aware of what it entails. Basically, fibromyalgia is a chronic condition that causes widespread muscle pain and is often associated with fatigue and a feeling of tiredness. Other symptoms that are commonly associated with fibromyalgia include trouble sleeping, headaches, morning stiffness, trouble with memory or concentration, and numbness/tingling in the hands or feet.
There is often a lack of proper diagnosis or many people are misdiagnosed. There are as many as 12 million Americans suffering from fibromyalgia but go undiagnosed due to it’s elusive nature. If you or someone you know would like a screening test to determine if you are suffering from fibromyalgia, contact our clinic for a free consultation.
There are different treatment options for those with fibromyalgia, ranging from prescription medication to try to cover up the symptoms, to treatments that get to the root cause of the problem. At Georgia Clinic of Chiropractic our goal is to get to the root cause of your problem, and many of our patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia are able to return to more active, pain-free lifestyles without relying on medications. With ongoing research, we are able to provide patients suffering with fibromyalgia specialized and comprehensive treatment plans. Our work with fibromyalgia has been featured in numerous publications, including the The Herald News. We are also a member and listed provider for the National Fibromyalgia Association (NFA).
